For fourteen years the Women In Trucking Association has been the only organization whose mission is to encourage and advance the employment of women in trucking. We have always represented ALL women in the industry, or as we like to say, the women who design, build, fix, drive, or own trucks.

Since 2007, we have been the lone voice for our members, but now that is changing.  We are being joined by other groups that share our goal to bring more women into the industry. We are extremely proud to be an integral part of three national initiatives.

IRS provides various payment options for taxpayers who owe but can’t pay in full

As the 2019 tax filing season gets into full swing, the Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers who owe of the many easy payment options.

The IRS anticipates that most taxpayers will be affected by major tax law changes. While most will get a tax refund, others may find that they owe taxes, many of whom may qualify for a waiver of the estimated tax penalty that normally applies. See Form 2210, Underpayment of Estimated Tax by Individuals, Estates and Trusts, and its instructions for details.

“The IRS understands there were many changes that affected people last year, and the new penalty waiver will help taxpayers who inadvertently had too little tax withheld,” said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig. “We encourage people to check their withholding again this year to make sure they have the right amount of tax withheld for 2019.” Continue reading

Heads up for taxpayers who requested an extension: The deadline is October 15

October 15 is the filing deadline for taxpayers who requested an extension for their 2017 tax return. However, those who have an extension should mark this coming Monday, Oct. 15 as the deadline to file.

While the deadline is just around the corner, there are still things these taxpayers can remember to make sure they file a complete and accurate return. Here are a few tips and reminders for taxpayers who have not yet filed:
